Amethyst is the birthstone for February
The interior has small, clear, quartz points transitioning to areas of bright violet, small, solid crystals encompased by a thin outer ring of pale blue chalcedony followed by a thick band of agate, all enclosed by the outer brown stone.
The ancient Greeks believed amethyst prevented intoxication and carved wearble drinking goblets in the belief the cups would help maintain their sobriety.
Current day belief holds that amethyst has many healing properties including aiding with calm, tanquility and grounding. All of which can contribute to sobriety.
